VNPT-IT Expands Cooperation with Japanese Enterprises in Digital Agriculture

The event marks a new step in the dialogue, exploration and cooperation between VNPT-IT and its Japanese partners in agriculture. The parties had previously conducted field surveys at production areas and farms in Vietnam, discussed market demand, and assessed the potential to develop agricultural products that meet Japan’s exacting standards. Initial assessments covered products such as bananas, red-fleshed dragon fruit, mangoes and vegetables for possible access to the Japanese market.

Technology as the Foundation for a Transparent Agricultural Value Chain

As agriculture increasingly shifts towards data-driven operations, technology and advanced production standards, digital transformation has become essential to improving productivity, managing quality and expanding market access.

This is also an area in which VNPT-IT is well positioned to participate more deeply across the value chain.

Drawing on its capabilities in digital platform development, systems integration and large-scale technology deployment, VNPT-IT has built an ecosystem of solutions that can support multiple stages of agricultural production and commerce. VNPT Green, together with farm management, traceability, IoT integration, data monitoring and digital mapping solutions, can help digitize production and establish continuous data flows from growing areas to finished products.

VNPT-IT’s digital service ecosystem—including digital signatures, electronic contracts, electronic invoices and transaction-support platforms—can provide further links needed to digitize the agricultural value chain.

The key is not merely to introduce technology into production, but to create and connect data that can verify product quality, origin and transparency. This is particularly important in demanding markets such as Japan, where quality, food safety, production standards and traceability are paramount.

Connecting Vietnamese Technology with Japanese Expertise and Markets

Cooperation between VNPT-IT and its Japanese partners brings together complementary strengths.

VNPT-IT contributes digital technology, systems integration expertise and the ability to connect with domestic resources, while its Japanese partners bring experience in agricultural technology, production organization and quality management, as well as insight into the needs and standards of the Japanese market. NTT Agritechnology has expertise in smart greenhouses, precision agriculture and digital agriculture; Niinuma Tomofarm has operated agricultural production in Vietnam to Japanese standards; and NTT e-MOI specializes in technology consulting, development and systems integration.

This combination creates opportunities for technology not only to support production management, but also to connect Vietnamese growing areas with international production standards and consumer markets.

Under the direction shared by the parties, the next phase will focus on studying suitable cooperation models, gradually improving the quality of growing areas, refining management processes and better meeting Japanese market requirements, with the aim of creating concrete commercial opportunities in the future.

Through its cooperation with Japanese technology and agricultural enterprises, VNPT-IT continues to advance its strategy of applying digital technology to practical economic challenges while expanding opportunities to deploy Make in Vietnam platforms in high-potential fields such as digital agriculture.

The signing ceremony on September 17 therefore not only opened a new partnership, but also established a foundation for VNPT-IT and its partners to explore smart, transparent and sustainable agricultural models, helping to increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products and strengthen Vietnam–Japan value-chain connections.
