Strengthening connections between local authorities, businesses, and international partners

Participants included Mr. Pham Huy Hoang, CEO of VNPT-IT; Mr. Le Quang Cuong, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Cooperative Alliance; Mr. Yuya Minowa, CEO of Niinuma Tomofarm Japan; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Van, representative of NTT eMOI; Mr. Tran Hoa Y, Deputy Director of VNPT Dong Thap; and Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director in charge of the VNPT Digital Agriculture Center, as well as representatives of businesses, cooperatives, and relevant organizations.

The event was one of the key activities under the Green Journey, “Visit Every Commune – Digitize Every Region – Prosperity for All,” continuing the effort to bring digital agriculture solutions closer to local communities, businesses, and organizations directly involved in production. With the aim of connecting production with market demand, the program focused on agricultural businesses and cooperatives with growing areas, products, and production volumes that show potential, and which seek to expand sales channels or explore export opportunities. The participation of technology organizations and market partners enabled direct discussions about purchasing needs, supply conditions, and the steps required before moving toward commercial cooperation.

Clarifying market requirements and supply capacity

One of the program’s main features was the “Voice of the Market” session, where Mr. Yuya Minowa shared insights into the needs and requirements of the Japanese market. Subsequent sessions focused on quality management, digital transformation in agricultural production, and solutions to help businesses and cooperatives strengthen their supply capacity. In demanding markets, product quality must go hand in hand with the ability to control processes and provide transparent information. Data such as growing locations, acreage, output, seasons, standards in use, and processing and packaging capabilities all play a role in assessing supply.

The direct discussion between representatives of VNPT-IT, VNPT Green, Japanese partners, businesses, and cooperatives aimed to address practical questions: what information producers need to prepare, what conditions they need to improve, and where they can begin the process of approaching partners. This helped businesses and cooperatives better understand the gap between their current capabilities and market requirements, rather than viewing exports as a broad goal without a concrete roadmap.

VNPT Green continues to promote value-chain linkages locally

As part of the program, VNPT Green introduced the role of digital platforms in managing growing areas, production processes, quality, and traceability. The platform is designed to help organizations record, manage, and link data across multiple stages, giving stakeholders a basis for monitoring supply capacity and sharing information more transparently. This approach directly connects digital transformation with market needs. With standardized data, cooperatives can consolidate information from their members; businesses can monitor growing areas and output; and buyers can access more information to assess how well supplies meet their needs. The series of activities aims to bring digital agriculture solutions closer to local communities while also engaging customers, connecting businesses, and exploring promising production areas firsthand.

Through the collaboration of VNPT-IT, VNPT Green, VNPT Dong Thap, the provincial Cooperative Alliance, and their partners, the connectivity initiative in Dong Thap aims to lay the groundwork for subsequent steps in standardizing supply, assessing production capacity, and identifying suitable cooperation opportunities. For VNPT-IT, this is also a way of implementing digital technology in line with the real needs of the economy: not merely developing platforms, but also integrating them into collaboration among stakeholders to enhance transparency and connectivity across the agricultural value chain.
