VNPT accompanies the Lao Government on its journey to build a digital government
On the morning of August 28, 2026, the Digital Government Administration Center under Laos' Ministry of Technology and Communications held a workshop in Vientiane with Vietnam's VNPT-I to exchange experience in building digital government. The workshop was chaired by Lao Deputy Minister Keovisouk Solaphom and attended by more than 60 delegates. VNPT Information Technology Company joined VNPT-I as VNPT Group's technology and digital transformation expert unit. The event marked another step in sharing experience, providing consultation, and accompanying the Lao Government as it builds its digital-government foundations and advances national digital transformation.

Sharing Vietnam's experience to help shape Laos' digital future
Digital transformation is becoming a major driver for countries to improve governance efficiency, raise the quality of public services, and establish foundations for socioeconomic development.
Drawing on the results of Vietnam's digital transformation, VNPT has extensive experience deploying systems, platforms, and technology solutions for government agencies, authorities at every level, businesses, and citizens.
Building on that experience, VNPT-I and member units including VNPT IT aim to share practical lessons with Lao agencies in digital government, digital data, digital platforms, and digital infrastructure, while jointly identifying models suited to Laos' conditions, characteristics, and development direction.
The program is not about copying an existing model. It is about sharing Vietnam's experience and working with Laos to design solutions that fit the country's governance and development needs.
VNPT-I takes the lead, supported by VNPT IT's expert capabilities
Throughout the partnership, VNPT-I serves as the lead coordinator, connecting partners and organizing consulting and cooperation activities in Laos. It is backed by VNPT's technology ecosystem, with VNPT IT providing core expertise in technology and digital transformation.
With specialists experienced in large-scale projects, VNPT IT can provide consulting from strategy and enterprise architecture through to the design of specific platforms and systems.

Capabilities that can support the Lao Government include digital-government strategy and architecture consulting; national data architecture and governance; data integration and sharing platforms; electronic identification and authentication; public-service platforms; operations centers and decision-support systems; cloud computing, digital infrastructure, and data centers; artificial intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies; and information safety and security.
VNPT's combination of consulting capability, practical deployment experience, and technology ecosystem creates a foundation for accompanying Laos across an end-to-end roadmap: from vision, strategy, architecture, data, and platforms through to real-world implementation.
From a digital vision to concrete priorities
A key direction of the program is to approach digital transformation through a nationwide architecture while identifying priorities capable of creating tangible improvements in public administration and citizens' lives.
Accordingly, national and population data, digital identity, public services, border-gate management, healthcare, education, finance, government operations, and inter-agency data connectivity and sharing may become priorities for research, consulting, and cooperation.
This approach aims to build a citizen- and business-centered digital-government ecosystem that connects agencies, enables data interoperability, and reuses shared platforms. It also shows how VNPT can translate its implementation experience in Vietnam into practices that Laos can reference, adapt, and apply to its own context.
A long-term partnership to shape Digital Laos
National digital transformation is a long-term journey that requires coordinated strategy, institutions, people, data, technology, and operational capability.
With a commitment to partnering rather than merely supplying solutions, VNPT seeks long-term cooperation with Lao agencies and organizations to study needs, advise on models, transfer experience, and progressively deploy suitable digital platforms.
Through VNPT-I's leading role, VNPT IT's expertise, and the wider VNPT ecosystem, the program is expected to open new opportunities for cooperation, accelerate the modernization of public administration, and lay the foundations for an effective, connected, and citizen-centered digital government.
From Vietnam's experience to Laos' digital future, VNPT is ready to accompany the journey toward Digital Laos.
